LA-BASED PUNK BAND CUNTS DEBUT VIDEO FOR “ASS TO GRIND“ FEATURING MEMBERS OF DEAD CROSS, RETOX, QUI AND HEPA.TITUS, THEIR SELF-TITLED DEBUT IS OUT NOW VIA IPECAC RECORDINGS
Cunts, the stocking mask clad LA punk-meets-thrash band featuring Michael Crain (Dead Cross/Retox) and Matt Cronk (Qui), debut their video for “Ass To Grind” as their self-titled debut album arrives via Ipecac Recordings.
“’Ass to Grind’ is a lamentation on failed relationships, both specific to myself and in broad, universal strokes, and the assumed victimisation inherent in romance for all parties involved,” explains Cronk. “The song also touches on the notion of a presumed heroism in co-opting the tragic circumstances and victimisation of others, as though in doing so, one achieves virtue and depth of character by proxy; an unpleasant byproduct of the well-meaning naïve.”
Since appearing on the LA underground scene in early 2018, Cunts have earned a reputation for their blistering and intense live shows. Equal parts catharsis and blood-letting, Cunts as a live entity is unapologetic. The band opens for Mr. Bungle and the Melvins in the US on Feb. 7 at the Fonda Theatre.
The album, which is available on vinyl, CD and digitally, can be purchased and/or streamed via this link
Cunts is drummer Kevin Avery (Retox/Planet B), guitar player Michael Crain (Dead Cross/Retox), singer Matt Cronk (Qui), bass player Keith Hendriksen (Virginia Reed) and guitar player Sterling Riley (Hepa.Titus). The album is produced by Michael Crain.
